The Story
Two Mile Paradise Cemetery was established around 1870 in Leon County, in the years just after the Civil War when rural Central Texas communities were rebuilding and expanding. A burial ground of this age typically served scattered farm families as the shared center of a settlement that has since faded. It was recognized as a Historic Texas Cemetery in 2008.

Bozeman Cemetery

Bozeman Cemetery was established in 1852 near Midway in Madison County, when this part of Texas was still a young frontier of scattered farms and settlements. Designated a Historic Texas Cemetery, it preserves the resting place of some of the area's earliest pioneer families. Its weathered stones are among the few remaining records of the community that settled here before the Civil War.
First United Methodist Church
Madisonville, TX
This congregation traces its roots to 1842, when circuit-riding preacher Henderson Palmer served the area before Madison County even organized. Ministers from surrounding Methodist districts tended the flock until it became a separate charge in 1856. Members built a one-room church in 1892, replaced it with a larger structure in 1904, and raised the present sanctuary in 1951, adopting the name First United Methodist Church in 1968.
First Baptist Church of Madisonville
Madisonville, TX
In 1856, missionary J.W.D. Creath deeded town lots to a fledgling Baptist congregation in the newly formed town of Madisonville. After lean early years and a merger with a nearby revival-born church, the congregation built its first permanent home in 1889–1890, with church women raising funds for a bell and organ. Reorganized as First Baptist Church in 1903, it went on to sustain mission work, including a Hispanic mission established in 1983.
Park Cemetery

The story of Park Cemetery begins in 1852, when John and Elizabeth Park buried her brother Thomas Jefferson Kellett—a veteran of the Republic of Texas army—on their land. As more family members were laid to rest, the plot grew into a community cemetery, formally set aside in 1870 for burials and a school. More than 600 graves now include veterans of the Civil War and both World Wars.
