The Story
The Blue Star Memorial Highway program began in 1945, named for the blue-star flags that World War II families displayed for loved ones in uniform. Carried nationwide by garden clubs and their districts, the markers dedicate American roads to the armed forces. This Haralson County marker was sponsored by the Dogwood District and Dogwood West Taskforce with the Garden Club of Georgia.
