The Story
Begun in 1945 by garden clubs across the country, the Blue Star Memorial honors the armed forces with highway markers, the blue star drawn from the service flags of the World War II home front. In Conyers this marker was sponsored by the Garden Club of Georgia and its Redbud District with the state highway department. It dedicates the road to all who have defended the United States.
